Description

CCODP is a one-dimensional off-design performance prediction code for centrifugal compressors. Correlations account for the following losses: inlet guide vane, impeller incidence, shock, skin friction, blade loading, trailing-edge, and clearance, vaneless and vaned diffuser friction, recirculation, and disk friction. Free-vortex prewhirl can be specified but no detailed calculations are done for an inlet guide vane. Splitter-bladed impellers are handled by modifying the hydraulic radius of the passage at the exit of the impeller and accounting for the increased number of blades in calculating the slip velocity and the blade loading loss. The code searches for surge and choke within the range of critical velocity ratios at impeller inlet. Choke may occur at the impeller inducer, the diffuser throat, or at the impeller exit (with vaneless diffuser only). Surge prediction is based on pressure recovery from impeller exit to diffuser throat or on diffuser incidence.
